Bye sunburns, sweaty face and runny makeup. Sounds amazing? Umm, not so fast. You might think that our complexion would naturally flourish in autumn, but the reality is that this change of weather can be quite difficult on our skin. Just like we change our wardrobe for the new season, the same should apply to our skincare routine.

In autumn, the air becomes drier, and combined with wind, indoor heating and other factors, our skin can really take a hit. What are the best ways to ease the transition and take a better care of ourselves to radiate healthy and happy skin?ย 


Hydrate from the inside out!

You probably heard it many times. Almost too many. Even though it seems so obvious, we still catch ourselves forgetting to drink water on particularly busy days. So, go and grab a glass now. Not a big fan of plain water? We totally hear you. Let us share with you our favorite ideas for infused waters that are not only tasty, but will totally warm you up on a cold day. Each makes one liter of infused water!

  • 1 sliced pear, 6 cinnamon sticks, fresh grated ginger
  • 1 blood orange cut into slices, 1 lemon cut into slices, handful of fresh cranberries
  • 1 apple cut into slices, 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 container of fresh raspberries, 1 persimmon sliced, 1 sprig fresh rosemary

You can start drinking the water right away, but the flavors will become stronger the longer you allow the ingredients to intermingle. The infused water will stay good for about 3 days in the refrigerator.

When it comes to your skin, consider swapping out your usual daily light summer moisturizer for something more nourishing. Try something that soaks in easily but provides skin with a layer of protection in the air-conditioned rooms and the wind.ย

Exfoliate (Smart)

Dramatic changes of temperature and humidity combined with dehydration, stress and other factors like air pollution can easily make our skin appear dull and grayish. If itโ€™s the case, opt for an exfoliating toner with fruit acids and AHAs to gently resurface your skin without being too abrasive.

Do it twice a week and your skin should feel rejuvenated and softer in no time. Donโ€™t forget to use an exfoliating soap on the rest of your body - wake up your body with our coffee or oat-based soaps!


Don't Forget About..Lips & Hands

Kisses in the rain and holding hands on an autumn walkโ€ฆ It can be all very romantic but no one loves chapped lips and dry, cracked hands. This is what happens quite often in the autumn months because of the dry, cool air and wind.

When we talk about the impact of the colder weather on our skin, we cannot overlook our hands. Dry, crepe-looking hands are our seasonal nightmare that can be cured with proper care and prevention. Use a product that contains healthy ingredients such as jojoba or olive oil. You can even apply your hand cream or oil onto your hands as you usually do and then put on your gloves before going to sleep. Wave goodbye to dry hands! ๐Ÿ‘‹

โš ๏ธย  Let us share with you a tip โ€” avoid petroleum-based products. Itโ€™s a very controversial ingredient still found in many cosmetic products and very often in lip balms. In fact, petroleum-based lip balms do not actively nourish the skin, but rather seal the lips so moisture does not escape. Additionally, it can clog the skin around your lips. There are many better and natural alternatives.ย 

Beeswax and sunflower butter (vegan) are two great ingredients to look for when you are shopping for a lip balm that is healthy for you and for the environment.



โ˜€๏ธ + ๐Ÿ’จ + ๐Ÿฅถ = crying skin

Sunscreen it is, darling. Even though the sun is not as strong as in the summer, the sunโ€™s rays are harmful throughout the year, so when we walk or practice outdoor sports we are exposed to their radiation. Choose sun-protective day cream and/or foundation based on your needs like daily sun exposure and skin type.ย 

Last, but not least โ€” Review your beauty drawerย 

Itโ€™s a great time to do some seasonal clean up! Toss any old or expired products, inspect the condition of your makeup brushes (and wash them), put away those neon eyeshadows for some timeโ€ฆ See if you need any new products and shop for essentials with us.ย
